Commemorating National Education Day through Learning and Critical Thinking University General
Denpasar, Saturday, May 2, 2026 — In commemoration of National Education Day, the Political Science Study Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Udayana University, invites the entire academic community to reflect on education as a continuous process of developing knowledge, character, and critical thinking skills that play an important role in society, the nation, and the state.
Education is not merely about memorizing information, but a lifelong process of developing ways of thinking, understanding various issues, and cultivating the ability to critically examine reality. Through education, individuals not only acquire knowledge but also learn about values such as justice, equality, responsibility, and the various dynamics that shape society.
From the perspective of Political Science, education plays an important role in developing citizens who are capable of understanding social and political issues around them. Students are not only expected to understand political theories and concepts but also to connect them with real-world conditions and examine how power, public policy, institutions, and society interact with one another.
The university environment serves as an important space for students to develop critical thinking. Learning processes, discussions, research, and involvement in social activities provide opportunities to broaden perspectives and strengthen awareness of various public issues.
The commemoration of National Education Day also serves as a reminder that social change requires both knowledge and the courage to take action. Knowledge gained through education should not remain confined to the classroom but should be transformed into ideas, meaningful work, and tangible contributions to society.
As part of the younger generation, Political Science students have the opportunity not merely to observe social and political dynamics but to actively participate as individuals who think critically, express ideas responsibly, and contribute to building a better democratic society.
Happy National Education Day!
Keep learning, keep thinking critically, and keep moving forward to create meaningful change.
