Commemorating Pancasila Day: Pancasila as the Unifying Force of the Nation and the Foundation of World Peace University General
Denpasar, Monday, June 1, 2026 — The entire academic community of the Political Science Study Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Udayana University, extends its warmest greetings on the occasion of Pancasila Day.
With the theme “Pancasila as the Unifying Force of the Nation and the Foundation of World Peace,” the commemoration of Pancasila Day serves as an important moment to reflect on Pancasila as the foundation of the Indonesian state and as a guiding principle in building a democratic, just, and civilized national life.
Pancasila is not merely a national symbol or the foundation of state governance. It embodies fundamental values that guide Indonesia in fostering democracy, justice, civilization, and national unity. The values of belief in God, humanity, unity, deliberation, and social justice remain highly relevant in addressing the challenges of national life amid Indonesia’s diverse social and cultural landscape.
In a democratic society, the values of Pancasila can be put into practice through mutual respect, openness to different perspectives, and a commitment to resolving differences through dialogue and deliberation. Pancasila also provides an important foundation for maintaining a balance between individual freedom, collective interests, and civic responsibility.
For the academic community, the spirit of Pancasila can be strengthened through critical thinking, constructive dialogue, and active participation in social and political life. Academic spaces play an important role in encouraging objective, open, and responsible discussions on various national issues while fostering ideas that can contribute positively to society.
As part of the nation’s future generation, Political Science students have a strategic role in understanding the dynamics of democracy, politics, public policy, and social life. By making the values of Pancasila a foundation for thought and action, students are expected to contribute to strengthening democracy, preserving national unity, and promoting integrity in political life.
The commemoration of Pancasila Day also reminds us that maintaining unity is a shared responsibility. Amid differences in ethnicity, religion, culture, and political perspectives, the spirit of Pancasila must continue to be nurtured so that diversity becomes a strength in building a peaceful, democratic, and just Indonesia.
Happy Pancasila Day!
