HEAD OF POLITICAL SCIENCE STUDY PROGRAM SHARES TIPS FOR SECURING NATIONAL RESEARCH GRANTS
Denpasar, Friday, July 25, 2025 — The Head of the Political Science Study Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Universitas Udayana, Dr. Tedi Erviantono, S.IP., M.Si., served as one of the speakers at the Research Proposal Development Workshop organized by the Research and Community Service Unit of FISIP Universitas Udayana. The workshop was held at the Faculty of Medicine Hall, Universitas Udayana, Denpasar, on July 23, 2025.
The workshop featured two speakers, namely Dr. Tedi Erviantono from Universitas Udayana and Dr. Sulanam from UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya. The event was officially opened by the Dean of FISIP Universitas Udayana, Dr. I Nengah Punia, M.Si., who emphasized the importance of strengthening lecturers' motivation and capacity to compete in research proposal development, both for internal funding through LP2M Universitas Udayana and national research grants such as BIMA Kemdikbudristek.
During his presentation, Dr. Tedi Erviantono, who successfully secured a BIMA national research grant in 2025, shared his experience and strategies for developing competitive research proposals. He highlighted three key aspects that researchers should pay attention to: administrative completeness, the strength of the research substance and its thematic relevance, and budget preparation in accordance with the applicable Standard Cost Guidelines (SBM).
He emphasized that a strong research proposal should not only present a compelling research idea but also fulfill all required administrative and technical requirements. Alignment between the research topic, substance, and budget planning is also an important factor in preparing a competitive proposal.
Meanwhile, Dr. Sulanam shared his insights and experiences regarding the dynamics of publishing in reputable international journals. His presentation covered various aspects of the publication process, ranging from academic ethics to the technical aspects of scientific writing.
The workshop was conducted interactively through a discussion and question-and-answer session, providing participants with an opportunity to engage directly with the speakers regarding research proposal development and academic publication. The event concluded with the presentation of plaques to the speakers and a group photo.
Through this workshop, FISIP Universitas Udayana is expected to continue strengthening lecturers' research and academic publication competencies while fostering a stronger academic culture and increasing research productivity within Universitas Udayana.
