Political Science Study Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Udayana University & Bali KPU Educate First-Time Voters at SMAN 1 Abiansemal

Denpasar, September 19, 2025 – The Political Science Study Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Udayana University, conducted a Community Service Program entitled “Socialization and Education for First-Time Voters” at SMAN 1 Abiansemal, Badung Regency. This activity was held in collaboration with the Badung Regency KPU as a strategic partner. Agung Rio Swandisara, S.H. (Socialization Division of the Badung Regency KPU) was present as a speaker. The event received full support from the Principal of SMAN 1 Abiansemal, I Ketut Hariwirawan, S.Pd., M.Pd., and was attended by the Head of the Political Science Study Program at FISIP Udayana, Dr. Tedi Erviantono, S.IP., M.Si.


The outreach session focused on understanding the rights and obligations of first-time voters, introducing the stages of the election, and democratic ethics that respect differences in choice. The material also emphasized the importance of verifying information to prevent mis/disinformation ahead of the vote. Through presentations and interactive dialogues, participants gained a comprehensive overview of the procedures, basic principles of responsible political participation, and practical tips for dealing with political information in the digital space.


This activity reaffirms the commitment of the Political Science Study Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Udayana University, in implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, particularly community service relevant to civic education needs in Bali. Collaboration with the Badung Regency KPU and support from schools strengthens the electoral education network at the secondary school level, while also contributing to the formation of a smart, inclusive, and integrity-based democratic culture.
