Denpasar, Wednesday, September 10, 2025 — The entire academic community of the Political Science Study Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Universitas Udayana, extends its warmest wishes on the occasion of Pagerwesi Day to all Hindus celebrating this sacred day.

Pagerwesi is one of the sacred holy days observed by Hindus. It is commemorated as a moment when God, as Sanghyang Paramesthi Guru (Siwa), enters a state of spiritual contemplation, accompanied by the Dewata Nawa Sanga, to bestow blessings upon and maintain the balance of the world.

Pagerwesi also carries a profound philosophical meaning as a moment to strengthen and reinforce faith, sradha bhakti, and dharma in our lives. Symbolically, the name Pagerwesi represents strength and steadfastness, likened to a strong fence and iron that provide protection in facing the challenges of life.

In everyday life, the commemoration of Pagerwesi provides an opportunity for self-reflection, strengthening spiritual values, and cultivating steadfastness in practicing goodness and dharma. These values can serve as a foundation for building a harmonious, peaceful, and respectful life.

May this Pagerwesi Day bring us peace, strength, guidance, and enlightenment as we journey through life. May sradha bhakti and dharma always serve as a strong inner protection within us.
