Udayana Political Science, Promotes How to Vote for Beginner Voters at SMA Widiatmika Badung

The Political Science Study Program carries out Community Service activities. This activity was carried out with the Political Science Student Association (HIMAPOL) of Udayana University on Thursday, 27 April 2023 at Widiatmika Senior High School, Jimbaran Badung. This service activity is themed Socialization and Education of Beginner Voters. The activity was attended by 30 Widiatmika High School students along with the Principal and teachers. The activity began with the opening by the Principal of Widiatmika Senior High School. In his remarks, the Principal appreciated this activity as a very positive form of education for students to participate in political participation. Speeches were also given by the Coordinator of the Political Science Study Program at Udayana University, the Head of HIMAPOL and the Chair of the Committee.

The main agenda of this activity was the presentation of material from sources from the General Election Commission of Badung Regency. In this detailed presentation, the resource person explained the importance of voting for first-time voters, political organizations participating in the 2024 election, up to the 2024 election date, came to TPS (voting place) on 14 February 2024. It is also important for novice voters to check whether they have been registered as voters or not through Online DPT (permanent voter list) Check.

Participants were very enthusiastic about participating in this activity, especially from the questions raised by Widiatmika SMA students. This relates to how to vote, the consequences of abstaining from voting, and how to determine the preferences of potential candidates for first-time voters. The event was very lively and ended with the handing over of certificates and door prizes for the best questions.
