Unud Political Science Study Program Coordinator Submits Political Body Textbook to Bali Gender Study Forum (Marking a commitment to mainstreaming gender equality and justice in higher education)

Denpasar, July 24, 2025 — The Coordinator of the Political Science Study Program at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Udayana University, Dr. Tedi Erviantono, S.IP., M.Si., symbolically presented the Body Politics Textbook to representatives from Ngurah Rai University and the Bali Sruti NGO. The handover took place during the event “Integrating Gender Equality and Justice Material into the Curriculum and Learning Process” held at the Ngurah Rai University Postgraduate Building, Denpasar.


This collaborative event, initiated by the Faculty of Social and Humanities at Ngurah Rai University together with the Bali Sruti NGO, was attended by representatives from various universities in Bali. From Udayana University, the attendees were: Ni Made Anggita Sastri Mahadewi, S.Sos., M.Sos. (Coordinator of the Sociology Study Program), Dr. I Gusti Agung Alit Suryawati, S.Sos., M.Si. (Coordinator of the Communication Science Study Program), Ni Nyoman Clara Listya Dewi, S.IP., M.A. (Coordinator of the International Relations Study Program), Alifiati, S.S., M.Si. (Coordinator of the Anthropology Study Program, Faculty of Cultural Sciences), and Nyoman Ayu Sukma Pramestisari, S.Sos., M.A. (Center for Gender Studies and Child Protection, Unud). Also present were representatives from Undiksha Singaraja, UHN I Gusti Bagus Sugriwa, Mahasaraswati University, STISIP Margarana Tabanan, Bali International University, and the host, Ngurah Rai University.


During the forum, Dr. Tedi Erviantono presented the achievements in the development and implementation of a gender-based curriculum in the Political Science Study Program at Unud for the 2023–2025 Academic Year, specifically through two courses: Women and Politics (instructor: Dr. Kadek Dwita Apriani, S.IP., M.IP.) and Politics of the Body (instructor: Dr. Tedi Erviantono, S.IP., M.Si.). The presentation highlighted the updating of teaching materials, enrichment of references, and their impact on students' final assignments and the career momentum of alumni in civil society organizations (CSOs) in the field of women's issues.


The Body Politics textbook that was handed over was the output of the Udayana University LP2M Textbook Grant. The committee appreciated this book as an important foundation for strengthening the gender curriculum, which already has independent curriculum content and has been implemented in higher education institutions in Bali. This activity also initiated the formation of the Bali Gender Study Forum, consisting of universities throughout Bali, with the hope that gender-based courses can be adopted more widely to strengthen gender equality and justice in society.
